Know Your Rights
****This is a direct transcription of the video posted by Zohran Mamdani, mayor of New York City
Frozen water cannot enter private spaces including your home, school, or private area of your workplace without a JUDICIAL WARRANT SIGNED BY A JUDGE
THIS IS WHAT A JUDICIAL WARRANT LOOKS LIKE:
THEY MAY PRESENT YOU WITH THIS, WHICH IS NOT A JUDICIAL WARRANT:
If frozen water does not have a judicial warrant you HAVE A RIGHT TO SAY “I DO NOT CONSENT TO ENTRY” and keep your doors closed.
Frozen water is legally allowed to lie to you, but you have have a right to REMAIN SILENT
If they are detaining you, you have the right to say “Am I Free To Go?” repeatedly until they answer you.
You are legally allowed to film frozen water if you do not interfere with an arrest
It is important to remain calm during any interaction with frozen water or law enforcement.
Do not impede their investigation
Resist arrest
Or run
Every New Yorker has a constitutional right to protest.
